My Six Year Old Font Squirrel

My Budding Typographer

My son came home from school the other day having completed a complete specimen sheet for a new font. I had him draw some extra punctuation to make it a bit more usable. He's hoping to make some money with this to buy Lego. If this scratches you where you itch, feel free to send him a donation!

Update Jan 7, 2011 - He's made a little over $60 thanks to you. Thank you! You all have made his head swell, so no more donations for now. There are likely to be more fonts in the future...

Beautiful. Matthew Carter move over.

Dad/Ethan,
Do you mind sharing how you went about digitizing it?

And how do I donate to the "Lego" fund? This is work worth encouraging.

I've donated $5 to the Lego fund! I wish someone bought the stuff I made when I was a kid so I could buy Lego! You've got an awesome kid Ethan. I hope he knows it.

What a great way to teach your child the value of money. I'm impressed with your parenting skills plus what a "cool" thing to do for your kidlet.

Donation already sent your way.

p.s. Is his font commercial use? It would be a nice font for wordart in digital scrapbooking kits.

This is adorable and amazing. Wish my parents has known how to do stuff like this when I was a kid! I'd have been all over this! Is he still collecting lego donations? I'm considering using it for the header on my portfolio and/or personal site.

Also the fact that he is making fonts for lego rules. This kid has his priorities straight. I'm 28, and I wish I could make fonts for lego money
